Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill specific educational qualifications, qualifying year benchmarks, and age parameters on the cutoff date.

Educational Qualifications

• Graduate Engineering Apprentices: Full-time four-year Bachelor's degree (B.E. or B.Tech) in Civil, Electrical, or Electronics and Communication Engineering from an AICTE recognized university with at least 60 percent aggregate marks (55 percent for SC and ST candidates).
• Graduate Non-Engineering Apprentices: Full-time regular graduation degree in the designated subject (B.Com, BBA, BSW, LL.B, or B.A. Hindi) from a recognized university.
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Full-time regular three-year Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a State Directorate of Technical Education or recognized polytechnic with a minimum of 60 percent marks (55 percent for SC and ST).
• Mandatory Condition: Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training elsewhere, or who possess one year or more of regular job experience, are not eligible. Only candidates who completed their degree or diploma in 2024, 2025, or 2026 can apply.

Age Limit

The age criteria are calculated as of October 1, 2026:

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years
• Age Relaxation: Upper age limits are relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, and 10 years for PwBD applicants.

Stipend & Training Period

Selected candidates undergo a standard 12-month training engagement and receive a monthly stipend that exceeds statutory minimums.

• Graduate Apprentices: Consolidated stipend of Rs 14,000 per month.
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Consolidated stipend of Rs 12,000 per month.
• Training Period: The engagement is strictly for a one-year duration from the formal date of joining.

Selection Process

The selection for IRCON apprentices is based purely on academic merit without any written exam or interview.

1. Merit List Preparation: Candidates are shortlisted based on the aggregate percentage of marks scored in their qualifying degree or diploma examinations.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to produce original academic marksheets, passing certificates, caste certificates, and NATS enrollment slips at IRCON corporate offices.
3. Medical Fitness: Final appointment letters are issued following medical fitness clearance according to company rules.
